He's an old family friend, but I haven't really been in contact with him since I was a kid. [Note that this isn't necessarily a "yes".] Why? What's he done now?

Nothing, yet. ... I just know the Galactic Patrol doesn't have the highest opinion of Saiyans, is all. And rightfully so, if you really think about it.

I just- You know. Didn't know if he was a special case, or something. He seems like kind of an idiot.

Ha! That's putting it mildly. [She frowns thoughtfully.] ...You might want to avoid mentioning your relation to me or your father. He didn't take Vegeta's existence in the colony very well.

/casually assumes he'll tell them about the time travel business in that log at some point

Standard procedure, yeah. I have an easy out knowing all of you with the whole time travel business.

Just as long as he isn't a threat, I'll leave him be. ... I mean, he doesn't exactly look like one, and he thinks Frieza is "monstrously powerful", but it never hurts to find out.

He's harmless. The only way he'll cause any trouble is if he decides to be stupid and provokes Vegeta into kicking him through a wall.

... Even that's only really trouble for himself.

He mentioned, uh... He knew your sister? I never met her, in my timeline. ... Probably obvious why, but-- I didn't know she had police contacts.

[Now that gets a laugh out of her.] I don't know if Jaco counts as "police contacts", hon.

[What to say about Tights...?]

To be honest you haven't met her in my timeline either. Not for lack of trying on my part! She's holed up on an island off of East City, writing her novels.

She wrote one about Jaco, once. It went over about as well as you'd expect.

[In other words, it bombed.]

It's funny, though. She never really showed up in any of my missions, either- you'd think she'd pop up once or twice. [poor tights, gone the way of launch]

... I can't believe that guy's real. He's so-- incompetent. Even that world champion guy is more together than Jaco.

Wow. You're right. That's so... sad [Yeah, Bulma, that would be more believable if you didn't just giggle.] Maybe we should give him a little credit, though. If you haven't seen Tights that probably means she's been staying out of harm's way. Jaco might have something to do with it.

I feel like he's just an idiot, but he's got his heart in the right place. ... Like Goku, or something, if Goku didn't have power to back it up.

Even Goku has his bright moments. [He might be her oldest friend, but she calls a spade a spade. Or an idiot an idiot.

She sighs.] In any case, harmless or not I'm going to be keeping an eye on the little guy. Want to help?

[timepatroller]

Yeah, might as well. ... Eventually I'd like to keep tabs on everyone here, if I can manage it. Knowing who could be helpful and who's a threat is a major part of my job, and it's even more important without my usual resources.
